The Role

Taking the lead on energy market trading strategies, you will help develop, operate, and improve
our leading distributed energy resource portfolio optimisation Software-as-a-Service. This
involves:

  • Monitoring the UK power markets to create price forecasting models and identify opportunities
  • Developing of risk and hedging strategies to suit the portfolio
  • Working with data science/development team to implement automated trading strategies
  • Creating tools for ensuring the smooth operation of assets and building failsafes/resilience
  • Working with commercial team on valuation and origination of new volume

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in an quantitative discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an analytical role
  • Demonstrated application of statistics, finance, mathematics, and problem solving
  • High degree of computer skills
  • Proficiency in data wrangling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of market mechanisms such as forward pricing and option pricing
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Matlab, R, Julia,
    Mathematica

Ideally:

  • Experience in power system operations, wholesale energy transactions, trading and asset
    structuring
  • Familiarity with Python programming language
  • Familiarity with SQL
